Terms of Business

Introduction

These Terms of Business outline the agreement between Targett Carpentry and the customer for all carpentry, renovation, and construction services provided. By accepting a quotation or instructing work to commence, you agree to the following terms.

Quotations & Acceptance

All quotations provided by Targett Carpentry are valid for a limited period and are subject to acceptance by the customer. Any additional work requested outside of the original quotation may result in additional charges, which will be discussed and agreed upon before work proceeds.

Deposit Payments

A 10% upfront deposit is required prior to the commencement of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. Deposits help secure project dates, materials, and scheduling.

Stage Payments

Payments throughout the project will be made upon completion of agreed stages of work, subject to the terms outlined within the quotation or project agreement.

Targett Carpentry reserves the right to pause work if stage payments are not received within the agreed timeframe.

Final Payment

Full and final payment must be received within 10 days of project completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Late payments may result in additional charges and recovery action where necessary.

Materials & Supply

Where Targett Carpentry supplies materials, we aim to source quality products suitable for the agreed project. Availability of certain materials or products may vary depending on suppliers and market conditions.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the property and work areas throughout the duration of the project. Any valuable or fragile items should be removed from working areas before work begins.

Project Timelines

Estimated project timescales are provided as guidance only. While every effort will be made to complete work within the estimated timeframe, delays caused by weather conditions, supplier issues, unforeseen structural problems, or circumstances beyond our control may occur.

Warranty

Targett Carpentry provides a 6-month workmanship warranty on all completed work from the date of completion.

This warranty covers faults directly related to workmanship but does not cover:

  • General wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse or neglect
  • Movement or damage caused by structural issues outside of our control
  • Customer-supplied materials

Any warranty concerns must be reported within the warranty period for assessment.

Cancellations

If a project is cancelled after work has commenced or materials have been ordered, Targett Carpentry reserves the right to charge for labour completed, materials purchased, and any associated costs incurred up to the cancellation date.

Liability

Targett Carpentry will not be held responsible for delays, damages, or losses caused by circumstances outside of our reasonable control.

Nothing within these Terms of Business affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
